For coaches, physios, and movement professionals
A reasoning system you can teach, repeat, and defend.
ECM gives practitioners a shared language for assessment, a fixed sequence for correction, and a documented clinical reasoning chain behind every programme. Validated across twenty years on the PGA and DP World Tour. Reproducible in your clinic.
What the sequence unlocks.
Strength training, GRF work, rotational power development — these are established and effective tools. ECM uses them. The clinical question is not whether to use them but when they arrive in the preparation sequence, and what the athlete is capable of expressing when they do.
A golfer who develops ground force and rotational power before the eccentric loading pattern is established will express those qualities through a technically unorganised system. The power is real. The technique does not improve proportionally. The practitioner has done their job correctly — the timing is the variable.
ECM gives practitioners the clinical reasoning system to sequence the preparation correctly. Structural decompression and organisation first — addressing the asymmetry pattern that every golfer presents with. Eccentric loading capacity second — the body learning to load and release elastically. Strength and power third — now powering a swing that is technically capable of expressing it.
The result is that the strength and power work the practitioner was already planning to do produces a better outcome — because the technical and structural foundation it is being applied to has been built first.
ECM does not replace the physical preparation tools practitioners already use. It provides the clinical sequencing that makes those tools produce their full return in the golf swing.
What you actually learn.
A causal assessment framework
ECM maps dysfunction back to its structural drivers and identifies the primary one. You learn to find the driver — not chase the site of pain or the visible swing fault — and intervene at the source. This is a clinical skill that transfers across every golfer you work with because the underlying pattern is consistent.
A fixed intervention sequence
Correction must converge before load, and the structural foundation must clear before speed and power are trained. The sequence is not a preference — it is the clinical position. ECM makes the sequence explicit and gives you the clinical reasoning behind every step so you can defend every decision.
A shared language
ECM gives multidisciplinary teams — physio, S&C, golf coach — a common vocabulary for assessment, prescription, and progress review. The ECM app tracks each athlete's status against the framework so every practitioner working with the same athlete is looking at the same clinical picture and using the same language to describe it.
Reproducible clinical outcomes
A method is only as good as another practitioner's ability to repeat it. ECM is documented, teachable, and consistent. Two practitioners trained in ECM, working independently with the same athlete from the same findings, should reach the same clinical decisions. That reproducibility is the standard ECM is built to meet.
Tour-validated clinical reasoning
The ECM framework was developed and refined across twenty years working with some of the most technically demanding athletes in professional sport — players whose livelihood depends on millimetre-level precision, repeated under competitive pressure, across the volume demands of a full professional schedule. The method was not built for tour players. It was built by working with them.
The clinical body of work
The ECM method grew from a specific observation: that the players who produced the most consistent, technically precise ball striking under pressure did not match the physical profile that the internet and the fitness industry were targeting. They were not necessarily the most powerful. They were the most organised. The most efficient. The most structurally coherent under load.
Working with those players — and with the former players who informed the development of the ECM framework — produced a clarity about what the body actually needs to produce elite golf that no laboratory study could have generated. The pattern was consistent across every player. The structural logic was always the same. The method that emerged from those observations is the ECM that exists today.

Ways to bring ECM into your practice.
ECM Certification
A structured curriculum covering the ECM assessment framework, the corrective sequencing doctrine, and the progression system. Delivered through case-based reasoning and live clinical mentorship. Certification qualifies practitioners to use the ECM app and programme builder with their athletes and to present their clinical reasoning in ECM language.
For: physios, S&C coaches, movement professionals, golf coaches with a clinical interest.
Clinical Mentorship
Ongoing case review for practitioners applying ECM in the field. Bring your hardest clinical cases — the athletes whose patterns are not resolving, whose faults keep returning, whose structural picture does not match the expected presentation. Leave with a clear clinical reasoning chain and a programme that addresses the actual driver.
For: practitioners already working within the ECM framework who want clinical oversight on complex cases.
ECM App — Practice Licensing
The ECM assessment and programme builder in your clinic. Clear progress tracking for every athlete, programme generation aligned to each athlete's priorities, and a full exercise library. A clinical tool built specifically for the ECM framework — not a generic programme builder adapted for golf.
For: clinics and practices wanting to implement ECM across a team with consistent assessment, programming, and progress tracking.
